Cartly is a smart shopping cart experience designed to rethink the traditional supermarket journey by turning the shopping cart into an intelligent digital companion.

The tablet-based experience brings product discovery, search, shopping lists, basket management, store navigation, promotions, and checkout support into a single in-store interface. Rather than asking shoppers to switch between a physical shopping experience and a separate mobile app, Cartly integrates digital assistance directly into the moment of shopping.

The product was conceived around a simple question: What if the shopping cart could actively help you shop?

The result is a high-level working product experience that demonstrates how AI-assisted product creation can move from an initial concept to a tangible, interactive application.

How It Was Created

Cartly was created through an AI-driven, end-to-end product creation process rather than a traditional sequence of research, wireframes, visual design, and development handled independently by different teams.

The process began with a product goal, framing guidelines, relevant benchmarks, and examples of existing retail experiences. These inputs established the problem space, target experience, functional expectations, and overall product direction.

From there, an AI agent worked through iterative prompting loops to progressively transform the initial requirements into the product.

The process involved continuously moving between:

Instead of attempting to generate the entire product in one step, the experience was developed through successive iterations. Each iteration provided an opportunity to clarify requirements, identify gaps, improve the information architecture, refine interaction patterns, and increase the fidelity of the resulting application.

The AI agent effectively operated across multiple stages of the product lifecycle, translating high-level intent into screens, flows, interaction logic, and a working application with minimal human intervention.
